St Johann in the Pongau lies in the middle of the Salzburg country and is therefore a well known starting point for many sights, excursions, hikings and snow experiences. St. Johann Alpendorf lies approx. 3 km from the city center and offers numerous cabins and ski lifts into the largest skiing area of Austria: ski Amadé.

Liechtenstein gorge:
One of the most beautiful ravines and the most tremendous displays of nature in the Alpine world. Easily accessible bridges, steps and tunnels, and at the end of the gorge, a 50m high waterfall.

In winter St. Johann is the starting point to the Salzburg sport region Amadé with 350 km ski tracks, more than 100 lifts, cabins and chair lifts and all you need is one single ski pass!
Ski-hiking, cross country-skiing, toboggan, as well as hiking through the wonderful winter landscape, makes your winter vacation a unique and unforgetable experience!
Take the highway A8 to Salzburg. After passing the border to Austria take the highway A 10 towards Villach. Freeway EXIT St. Johann-Bischofshofen turn left on the L 109 to the Liechtensteinklammstraße.
After 2 km on the Alpendorfstrasse you arrive Alpendorf. Keep going for about 1 km on the Alpendorfweg and then turn to the left.
